Some power outages remain after stormy Sunday

The severe thunderstorm warnings that were issued for parts of the state on Saturday have expired.

As of 8 a.m. on Sunday., there were about 1,000 outages, according to Eversource. That's down from more than 10,000 around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Most of the outages Saturday were in Barkhamsted and New Hartford, with each having more than 1,000 impacted customers. Towns with more than 500 outages reported at 8 p.m. Saturday included Colebrook and Simsbury.

Reports of damage

There are reports of trees down including multiple in New Hartford. There are reportedly trees down on CT Route 181 and Goose Green Road, Route 202 at East Cotton Hill Road and also on Maple Hollow Road.

In Litchfield, there are reports of a tree down on Route 4 and in Simsbury, there are reportedly multiple trees down on power lines on Buttles Road.

State police said a tree fell on a car along Hatchet Hill Road in East Granby. No injuries were reported.

Troopers also said there are various trees down in Kent.
