As our incoming storm system begins to take shape, our weather will continue to be quite gloomy. Rain showers will develop overnight, first in western CT, pushing east by daybreak Thursday. Keep rain gear handy and you will need it BIG TIME tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be miserable. Periods of rain, heavy at times with chilly, gusty northeast winds. It is a very strange set up for the days leading up to Memorial Day. Unprecedented? Absolutely not! But nasty and undesirable.

1"-2" of rain is quite likely with some areas possibly topping 2". This can create some poor drainage flooding, and we will monitor smaller rivers and streams for minor flooding.

The rain will be very chilly Thursday with high temperatures struggling to reach the 50° mark.

Meanwhile, winds may occasionally nip at us, up to 25-40 miles per hour across southern New England.

The storm system will ease away over the weekend and can produce leftover showers on Friday. Slightly drier air will circulate into the state Saturday-Monday. Another chance of rain (surprised?) develops on Tuesday.
